My name is Jamie, we’re at Wig Elegance but we do have Wig-a-Do and Rosalind Stella’s Wig Boutique as well. In 2009, I lost my mother to breast cancer, and I was extremely depressed, under the covers, did not want to get up. My husband thought it would be a good idea to buy the salon for me, a chance for me to give back, to be back with other cancer patients and do things for them that I wasn’t able to do for my mother. And that’s really what it’s all about.
The benefits of coming into a wig salon are that you get the personalized attention, you get a full consultation, full education, you get the expertise of our licensed stylists who can help you decide what colors and styles best help your features, your skin tones. The personalized care and the compassion, that our staff has toward the women and men as well that come in here, is overwhelming; the many times that we sit with our clients and cry with them.
Services we provide here are cutting, which is free with the cost of your wig, styling, sizing (if it needs a tuck or stretching if it needs to be made slightly larger) washing, setting, full education. If you have questions and you need to come back, you can come back and we will still have you come in, sit you down, and show you what you’re doing wrong and how to apply the wig properly to your head. Because there’s nothing more important than how [the wig’s] sitting on your head. It needs to be on properly so that it looks like you don’t have on a wig. If you don’t look good, we don’t look good, and that’s basically very important to us – that you walk out this door and you know how to wear your wig properly.
Customer service is first and foremost to me. It’s the most important thing. Every one of our staff members know that that is what our clients look for – customer service, customer service, customer service. I don’t want anyone to ever walk out of here not feeling that they were treated amazing, that the red carpet was rolled out for them. Everybody who walks out this door means everything for us. We like to build relationships with our clients.
It’s not just slapping a wig on your head and out the door, “Okay we’ve made a sale.” It’s more about let’s learn about you, let’s sit with you, let’s find out what your going through, what you need this for, and then we want to know that you’re going to come back to us and build a relationship. Maybe we’ll be your new salon. Maybe our girls will be your new stylists, because that’s who you’re going to come to care for your wig.
